So we left Mainz yesterday morning knowing we again had to take the pain of the main roads before enjoying the nice drive from Bayruth into Prague. It was going to be a long day( 340 miles ), but it was made longer because Tony and Sue's sat nav packed in during rush hour Prague traffic ! We talked them in via the walkie talkies and somehow, missing all the trams as well, we finally arrived and parked. First stop - a beer in the bar outside the hotel where it was happy hour :) Boy, was that needed after a bit of a fraught ending to the day's driving !! The walkie talkies work well. Tony and Sue have been leading with us in the middle and the Woodies bringing up the rear. We keep the Woodies in sight at all times so if we need to pull up or slow down we can radio Tony and Sue to let them know. We also have different types of sat navs so if one gets confused ( as Tony and Sue's did ) we have another type to rely on. We thought one of the Woodies' bats had been decapitated yesterday, but on closer inspection it was hiding its head. Must've been David's driving :) Sorry Woody - only kidding ! Most other folk in our group came the direct route yesterday, so no alternatives to report.
