So the journey was fraught, but we had a morning on Thursday to look around the town. It's hard to explain, but in order to appreciate the best bits you have to get over the depression that sets in when you see the poverty of this country. A term I've heard often is 'ripe for renovation'. The actual buildings have lovely architecture, but so many of them are unloved, which brings down the ones that are cared for. In the historical bits they are really trying to make an effort and there are some very pretty areas.
